Accessibility Infographic Reflection Post…
My experience designing the Accessibility Infographic was much easier than the first time. I had time to look over Canva thoroughly before starting my assignment. I decided against purchasing the pro membership for now. I encountered the same obstacles with the free membership as my first infographic. There are many design templates to choose from, and the best ones are listed under pro membership. However, my design turned out pretty good. I did not have any trouble researching accessibility information. My infographic was designed in the question-answer format. I began with the question: What is accessible online learning? Accessible online learning involves using technology and standards to create training content that can be used by all learners regardless of their ability. Secondly, I discussed the importance of accessibility in online learning. Accessibility provides:
- Equal Opportunities
- Legal rights
- Improves quality of course
- Gives privacy
I concluded my design by asking: What steps can instructors take to make their course accessible to diverse learners?
- Use a variety of teaching methods
- Differentiate instructions
- Use collaborative learning
- Create and inclusive environments
- Use flexible assessment methods
- Use culturally responsive practices
Overall, I enjoyed working with the infographic design. The second time around proves to be much easier. I only had difficulty at the end with saving and providing a link to my assignment.
